Abstain

A vote that counts towards quorum, and in the veto test, but neither for nor against the proposal. See How votes are counted.

Action

One call the DAO makes if a proposal passes: a target contract, an amount of L1 and the call data. A proposal has up to 32, run in order and all together. See Proposals and voting.

Admin page

The page at /admin where a site's operator deploys COLLAB, publishes a deployment to the site, checks a deployment, changes the site settings and watches the server's status. See The admin page.

Admin token

The secret the operator signs in to the admin page with, printed by the installer; sudo collab admin-token shows it again and --new replaces it. Members never need it. See The admin page.

Alpha

How COLLAB 2.2 describes itself: new software, reviewed with AI assistance but without an external audit. A strip at the top of every page says so. See Security at a glance.

Announcement

A titled update posted in the DAO's name, by a representative with the permission or by proposal. It informs and never changes what the DAO can do. See Announcements.

Call policy

The rules, kept by each DAO's policy contract, that say which functions each proposal type may call on which contracts, and which calls make a proposal critical. See The 13 proposal types.

CIPNFT

GenesisL1's protocol for encrypted intellectual-property NFTs: the data is encrypted, and the NFT carries the data key sealed to its owner. A DAO holds such assets through its key vault and key stewards. See Sealed data with CIPNFT.

Constitution

The DAO's founding text in Markdown, version 1 at creation and amended only by critical proposals; every version stays on-chain. See The constitution and announcements.

Critical rules

The stricter of a DAO's two rule sets, used for proposals that change the DAO itself, cannot be undone or can give up treasury value where the DAO says so. See Standard and critical rules.

Data key

The key that decrypts a CIPNFT asset. Its hash is public, so anyone can check a key without seeing the data. See Sealed data with CIPNFT.

Declassification

Making a sealed asset the DAO owns public by publishing its data key on-chain, after a critical vote. It cannot be undone. See Sealed data with CIPNFT.

Delegate

A member who votes with shares delegated to them. Your own vote overrides your delegate's for your shares. See Delegation.

Deposit

L1 paid to bring a proposal to a vote, refunded unless the DAO's rules forfeit it. See Deposits, refunds and penalties.

Description

A DAO's Markdown text of up to 256 KB, kept in its profile contract and rewritten in place when it changes. See The description.

DeSciFi

COLLAB's built-in exchange: pools, swaps, one-sided launch pools and liquidity locks. See Swap on DeSciFi.

Display currency

The currency shown beside L1 amounts for reference: US dollars from the site's price snapshot until you choose another. See The display currency.

ERC-1271

The standard that lets a contract approve signatures. A DAO signature proposal uses it. See The treasury.

Excluded account

An infrastructure account, such as a pool or a lock box, that the DAO has marked so its shares carry no votes. It is not a member and cannot be frozen. See Members and shares.

Execution window

The time after the timelock during which anyone can execute a passed proposal. See Timelock and execution window.

Factory

DAOFactory, the contract that creates every DAO in one transaction and keeps the register of DAOs and their web addresses. It has no admin. See How COLLAB works.

Freeze

Suspending a member by a Membership proposal: their shares stop voting, moving and delegating, and their powers as a representative or key steward stop. See Members and shares.

Freeze bond

The rule, on in every preset, that a freeze proposal which is rejected or misses quorum forfeits its deposits. See Members and shares.

Freeze lock

The rule, on in every preset, that a proposal to freeze a member locks that member's share transfers from the start of its vote. Each freeze proposal holds its own lock. See Members and shares.

Gas limit

The most gas a transaction may use, set when it is sent. GenesisL1 charges at least half of it even when the transaction fails, so COLLAB keeps its limits close to what a transaction needs. See Costs and gas.

GL1F

GenesisL1 Forest, the on-chain machine-learning protocol whose models are owned as Model NFTs. It comes in collections, each a registry, a Model NFT contract, a market and a runtime, such as GL1F and GL1F Crypto. See Models with GL1F.

Holding period

How many blocks before a proposal's snapshot voting power is read a second time. The lower of the two readings counts. See The holding period.

Integration

A GL1F collection or CIPNFT contract that a DAO has added to its list, so that its Models or Sealed data proposals can use it. See Integrations.

Key epoch

One generation of the DAO's encryption key, proposed by a steward and activated by a vote. See Sealed data with CIPNFT.

Key steward

An elected person who holds the DAO's private decryption key for sealed data, and can read everything the DAO has sealed. See Sealed data with CIPNFT.

Key vault

CipherVault, the DAO's seat in CIPNFT: key stewards, key epochs, reveals, declassifications and purchases. See Sealed data with CIPNFT.

L1 and wL1

GenesisL1's coin, and its wrapped ERC-20 form used in pools. See Key concepts.

Launch pool

A one-sided DeSciFi pool that starts with only the new token and a virtual price. See Pools, liquidity and locks.

Lens

A read-only contract, DAOLens or MarketLens, that gathers what a page needs in one or two calls. It holds nothing. See How COLLAB works.

Listed integration

An integration that the deployment of COLLAB running a site names in its configuration. Any other is unlisted, and the site flags it. See Integrations.

Lock box

A contract that holds LP tokens until a date, or forever, and sends their fees to a fixed address. See Pools, liquidity and locks.

A DAO's 128 × 128 PNG of up to 512 KB, kept in its profile contract, checked on chain and shown only after its hash is checked. See The logo.

LP token

A token that represents a share of a liquidity pool. See Pools, liquidity and locks.

Member

An account that holds the DAO's shares, apart from the treasury and excluded accounts. A frozen member keeps their shares but cannot use them. See Members and shares.

Minimum Yes

An optional share of all voting power that Yes must reach for a proposal to pass, however many members abstain. See Abstentions and the minimum Yes.

Model NFT

The NFT that controls a GL1F model: its pricing, access plans, keys and earnings. A DAO holds Model NFTs in its treasury and manages them with Models proposals. See Models with GL1F.

Module permission

Governance's approval for a helper contract to call one function on one contract through the treasury, with any arguments, never on the DAO's own core contracts. See The treasury.

No with veto

A No vote that also counts in the veto test. See The three tests.

Operator

Whoever installs and runs a COLLAB site. The operator controls the website and its settings, never a DAO's contracts. Not to be confused with a representative's operator power. See Running a COLLAB site.

Operator power

A representative's permission to run calls governance pre-approved as module permissions. Granting it is critical. See Representatives.

Pass threshold

The share of the votes that are not Abstain that Yes must exceed. See The three tests.

Prerender job

The server job that writes static pages for search engines and link previews, a checked cache of the on-chain logos and descriptions, the tokens list's data and the price snapshot, every 10 minutes. See Static pages, data files and prices.

Proposal

A request for the DAO to decide or act: a type, a title, a description and the exact actions to run if it passes. See Proposals and voting.

Proposal threshold

The voting power needed to submit a proposal. If a DAO sets it to zero, any account that is not frozen can submit. See Every parameter and its range.

Quorum

The share of all voting power at the snapshot that must vote for a result to count. See The three tests.

Raw transaction

The proposal type that may call any contract with any data and any amount of L1, under the critical rules: the DAO acts like a multisig. See Raw transaction.

Representative

A person the DAO appoints with limited powers over its profile, its announcements and pre-approved calls. See Representatives.

Reveal

Sharing the data key of a sealed asset the DAO owns with its members, sealed to each member's own key, after a critical vote. See Sealed data with CIPNFT.

RPC endpoint

The server your browser reads GenesisL1 through, chosen in Settings. It could show you wrong data, but it cannot sign anything for you. See RPC endpoints.

Shares

The DAO's voting token: one share, one vote. See Members and shares.

Signal

A proposal with no actions; the vote itself is the decision. See Signal.

Site settings

What a site's operator changes on the admin page: the alpha strip, an announcement, featured and hidden DAOs, verified and hidden tokens, search texts, links, analytics, RPC endpoints and the explorer. They change the website, never the chain. See Site settings.

Slug

The technical name for a DAO's web address. See Web address.

Snapshot

The block before a proposal's submission, at which voting power is measured. See Snapshots.

Standard rules

The rule set most proposals use; the critical rules are at least as strict. See Standard and critical rules.

TextStore

The contract that keeps texts on-chain, addressed by their hash: constitutions, announcements, proposal descriptions and token logos. See How COLLAB works.

Timelock

The wait between a proposal passing and the moment it can be executed. See Timelock and execution window.

Title

A DAO's name, set at creation and never changed. Titles are not unique. See The title is permanent.

Treasury

The DAO's address and vault, which acts only on passed proposals and pre-approved module calls. See The treasury.

Undeployed

A site that is installed but whose operator has not deployed or published COLLAB's contracts yet. Its pages load and say "COLLAB is not deployed on this site yet". See A tour of the site.

Verified token

A token a site vouches for: L1, wL1, a token its operator lists as verified, or a token issued by a DAO the site features. Any other token carries a warning. See Key concepts.

Veto threshold

The share of all votes cast that No with veto must exceed to veto a proposal. See The three tests.

Voting power

What your vote weighs on a proposal: your own shares, plus the shares delegated to you whose owners do not vote themselves, read at its snapshot. With a holding period, each part counts with the lower of that reading and the one a holding period earlier. See Who can vote.

Web address

A DAO's permanent, unique name in its page's address, such as /dao/open-proteomics-collective: 3 to 48 lowercase letters, digits and hyphens, starting with a letter. Also called its slug. See The web address.
